CCP on "Community Corridor Planning Meeting THIS Thursday!"

Hey folks! In case you haven't heard, CCP (or Community Corridor Planning) is hosting a HUGE gathering this Thursday, December 2nd at the Capuano School (150 Glen Street, Somerville) from 6:30-8:30pm.

WHY? We need you - your ideas, your thoughts, your interests, your concerns, your hopes, your fears...your everything.

You see, the Green Line is being extended through Somerville around 2015. Sounds great, right? Well it IS great. The concerns that we have however, are that without community voice, the development that happens along the Green Line Extension won't be all good. Prices could go up: local, independently owned businesses will not be able to afford rent/taxes; home owners will need to relocate; renters will need to move to a more affordable community. Green Space and Active Transit options could be discarded, and instead more pavement, car parking, and unsustainable development options could be chosen.

We want a beautiful, fun, hip, affordable, quirky, locally-owned, green, sustainable, tree-lined, diverse community - like the one we have now - once the Green Line comes. Are you with us? If so, come to our meeting!
